Is It Normal fro teenage guys?

is it normal for a teenage guy to get hard around another guy, but be straight. my bst friend and i were in the shower house at a pool and the showers r all together, and my best friend got a hard one and i asked him y, he said it was normal for teenage guys 2 gt hard around good looking/ big ed guys. is this normal? we r both 18.
