How to fix scratched flatscreen tv??

So I knocked over a lamp at my fiance's parents house tonight that hit their mantle and shattered and then hit the tv. It looks like it only made a scratch in the film that is over the screen... if that makes any sense. Can the film be replaced or does the whole screen need to be replaced? Thanks so much!
