Lance Armstrong may attend Tour de France after all...is that the right thing to do?

Not heavy into cycling, but once a year the Tour de France does catch my attention. Just read an article stating that b/c of the strong performance of the Discovery Channel Team, Lance Armstrong is considering making an appearance at the race. Armstrong, as part-owner of the team and one of the best cyclists ever, has every right to be there and cheer his team on. I just wonder if it wouldn't be best if he just let the present cyclists of the D.C. Team take the spotlight this time. If he was there from the very beginning of the race till the very end, helping the team any way he could, that would be one thing, but the way the article was written, it sounds like he is only going there b/c his team is doing surprisingly well. I don't want to knock the man, he has dealt with more crap than most people ever will, I just hope he knows when it's time to become a successful 'behind the scenes' player (think present day Jordan and Gretzky in their respectivive sports).
