Who agrees with my cousins?

Talking about children's names. Theophilus is what I want to name my son, and 'Theo' would make a good nickname. They say that it's a 'black name'. In fact, no matter what I pick (Zeke, Zane, etc) it's either 'black' or 'gay'. Since 'Theo' is a Greek word meaning 'God', I don't agree with them. What do you say?
